Christmas in July @ Inky Chicks

Good Morning
I'm back with another christmascard.
This one for the new challenge over at

The theme for this fortnightly challenge is
Christmas in July
and the sponsor for this challenge is
I made a pocketcard for this challenge.
On this one I used two Magnoliaimages, coloured with DistressInk - refills and markers.
To decorate the pocket I used MagnoliaDooHickeys, Martha Stewart Ribbon, Seambindingribbon, a snowflakecharm, two little bells and some Glitterstickles on the trees (Magnolia DooHickeys).
DPs are from Inkido. All paperedges are inked with DistressInk WalnutStain.
I sprinkled on a little Frantage Chunky White EmbossingEnamel around the image.
The reindeerimage (Magnolia, that too) is cut out and attached with 3D foam pads.
Textstamp (on the back of the pocket) is from Kort & Godt.
The snowflakestamps used on the insidecard are from an old stampset from TPC Studio.
The insidecard has lots of room for writing, so this is a christmascard for the long christmaswishes...

Here come all sides of the pocketcard:

Tilda blowing hearts

Good morning everyone!
Today I have a birthdaycard with a Magnoliaimage to show you.
This time I've used Tilda blowing hearts, and again it's coloured with DistressMarkers and -reinkers.
DPs are also from Magnolia.
I used Bazzill Kraftcardstock as base for the card.
I used lots of laces, cheesecloth, ribbon (the text "Gratulerer" is norwegian for Congratulations), both flowers and butterflies (Martha Stewart punches) are glittered. Some of the butterflies are glued to the swirled strings on the flowers, to make them "fly" over the card.
I folded two ribbonpieces and attached them with brads.

Inside:
MagnoliaDP, Martha Stewart Vintage Floral PATP-set, MS Monarch Butterfly Large and Small punches.
Text is from North Star Stamps.
Edges (Outside too) are inked with DistressInk WalnutStain.

I'll send this birthdaycard to the following challenges:

Matchboxholder with MiniMagnolia

Some time ago I came to remember a thing my grandmother had on her kitchenwall - a holder for matchboxes. Hers were made out of wood, but I thought it might be made out of cardstock and papers as well. SO - I found my ruler, pencil and eraser, and started drawing, measuring, cutting, folding and trying - and found a way to make a Matchboxholder :)
This is how the second turned out.
On the first I didn't make the halfcircleshaped slits in the sides to get a better grip on the matchbox to get it out. I didn't think of those until my boyfriend (without nails ;) ) came and suggested it...
The holder has room for 4 matchboxes (all boxes have DP on top),
and with such a tiny little decorating area I had to use one of my MiniMagnolias
(sadly forgotten stamps, think I have to put them somewhere visible, to remember to use them more...)
Before I give it away, I'll try my luck in these challenges:
Tilda's Town #48 - Flowers Everywhere
Papirdokkene - Alt er lov
Party Time Tuesdays #115 - Anything But A Card
NSHK #71 - Bruk utstansere (Punches/ Dies)
TTCRD - Anything Goes

Birthdaycard in yellow and green

Hi fellow crafters.
Tonight I have a brand new birthdaycard to show you. One of the cards and project I've been working on the last week.
I dusted off the sewing machine, and sew all panels together. I placed the laces and swirls (die from My Favourite Things) as I sew the panels. Then I attached the sentiment (die from Spellbinders and textstamp from Kort&Godt). The bow with the charms on is tied to the sentimenttag. The flowers, pearls and rhinestones were placed last.Of course I have glittered the flowers...
Around the image (Magnolia) I used different postalstamps (Kort&Godt and Kaisercraft).
The image is coloured with DistressMarkers and -reinkers.
All paperedges, both DPs and Cardstock are inked with DistressInk WalnutStain.
I really don't remember where the papers from, but I think the colours fitted so nicely to the image, and I liked all the flowers and butterflies in them.

Here's the inside of the card. This is an insidelayout I like really well, nice, clean and simple, yet decorative.
I used MarthaStewarts Vintage Floral PATP-set to punch out the greetingpanels.

I'll enter the card into these challenges:
Sketchy Colors #158 - Sketch
MDUC #191 - Tic Tac Toe (Lace/ 3 or more layers/ Finished inside)
Totally Tilda #69 - Bingo Grid (Ribbon/ Pearls and or Gems/ Machine Stitching)
Papertake Weekly - Bingo (Glitter/ Punches/ Lace, Blooms/ Ribbons/ Gems)
One Stop Craft #223 - Birthdays
Tilda's Town #48 - Flowers Everywhere

Bye for now, I'll soon be back to show new projects

Magic Wallet Birthdaycard

Having a real slow Saturday, I found time to post another "card" I made recently :)
This is a mechanism I've been thinking of for a long, long time. My daughter bought such a wallet a couple of years back, and ever since I've had it in the back of my mind. Some days ago she was invited to a birthday and I decided to figure out how to make a "Magic Wallet Card".
It took some time to find how to put the ribbons - but I made it - and I'm proud of it!
The wallet needs some folding to work, so I couldn't put on too much stash, just the image (WOJ), two tags (Magnolia doohickeys), a little bow with a charm attached and some halfpearls.
The image is coloured with Distress reinkers.

When closing and opening  the wallet the card and money swap places - cool, or what!

The back of the wallet:

I'll put the Magic Wallet into these challenges:
Totally Papercrafts #161 - Birthdaygirl in Pink
Dutch Dare #211 - Birthday Fun
Simon Says Stamp! - Happy Birthday
Stampavie and More #190 - Pretty In Pink
2 Sisters #138 - Anything Goes

Confirmationcard with Tie

Woke up to a wonderful morning at Røst.
The sun is shining, almost no wind, a bit too much snow that I like in April, but hopefully it'll disappear soon - very soon :)
I have a new card to show today. A boys card again, and again a boys confirmationcard.
I made it as a Magic Card, with DPs from Papirdesign. The image is from Whiff of Joy, coloured with Distress reinkers. I inked the edges around the image with DistressInk WalnutStain, the paperedges with DI BlackSoot. I used Martha Stewarts Heart Chain punch on the cardstockedges, and on the DP I put on the front as deco. The blue dotty ribbon is only fastened underneath the papers, so I could use a tie as decoration on the card - I thought that would be cute with this image...

The back of the card:

I'll enter these challenges:
Panduro Hobby - Konfirmation
Scrap'a'Long #26 - Konfirmasjon
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Crafty Cats #177 - Anything Goes

Tilda with big icecream Birthdaycard

I have made a girly birthdaycard with Magnolias beautiful image "Tilda with big icecream". It's one of my latest favourites, and I really loved colouring this one. I've used Distress reinkers and -markers colouring.
I also used (a lot of) DistressInk on the paperedges - I love the aged look it makes.
I've used lots of dies on this card. The image is stamped on aquarellepaper cut with a Spellbindersdies. I used two Magnolia Doohickey-dies. The swirl is My Favourite Things and the key (in the corner) is Marianne Design.
The greeting is made with tiny stickers.
In the flowerarrangement I've used flowers, a feather, leaves, swirls, lace and pearlstrings. On and around the flowers and the image I put on lots of Liquid Pearls.
To the top tag I tied a ribbonbow with an icecreamcharm attached.
I'll put my birthdaycard into these challenges:
Marvelous Magnolia #21 - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp - Happy Birthday
Party Time Tuesdays #114 -  Ribbons and Blooms
Dream Valley #53 - Pearls and Lace
Sweet Stampin' - Oh So Girly
A Gem Of A Challenge #73 - Make it Cute
Deep Ocean #48 - Photo Inspiration
Magnolia Mania - Happy Birthday Magnolia Mania!

Iceskating Tilda

Last week I won over at Christmas Challenges (with sketches), and that really gave me the spirit to make more christmascards.
This card started out with their new sketch, but before I had finished it, the challenged had closed, and I couldn't see much of the sketch in the card - I got a little carried away in laces and ribbons, cheesecloth, dies and punches, DistressInk and snowpaint and flowers, swirls, glitter and pearls...
That's what it's like surfing around in blogland; I found inspiration in many, many blogs. Stole one idea here and another one there, and in the end  I had so many things I wanted to do, so much stash I wanted to use...
Dps are from MajaDesign and BoBunny.
The Iceskating Tilda is coloured with Distress reinkers. And Glitter.
The paperpanels are sewn together.
I'll enter the card into these challenges:
Tilda's Town #46 - Christmas
Totally Gorjuss #177 - Something Blue
Paper Crafting Journey - Ribbon or Lace
Dream Valley #53 - Pearls and Lace
NSHK #71 - Bruk utstansere (punch/ dies)
Papirdokkene #46 - Alt er lov
TTCRD - Anything Goes

Thanks a lot to all DTs for sooo much inspiration!

Mothers Day Theme at Fashionista Challenge

Today the April-challenge starts at Fashionista Challenge.
Theme is Mothers Day, and our sponsor this month is
A Day For Daisies
I was lucky enough to get one of their digis to work with for this challenge.
My choise fell on this image called "Tender Thoughts". Isn't it just adorable!
I do not know anyone who dislikes winter and snow more than my mother does, so I had to make the card more summerlike. The image has butterflies in it, so I found it suitable to use butterflies to decorate around it too. The butterflies are made with Cheery Lynn dies. Of course I had to "paint" them with glitter :)
I also put on a butterflycharm.
The image is coloured with Distress reinkers.

Now - go to
Fashionista Challenge
to check out what the rest of the girls have made.
I hope you'll join in on our challenge.

And remember; you can give  a little attention to your mother even if it isn't Mothers Day ;)

Christmastag

I'm so behind on the christmascards!
Last year I made at least 3 christmascards every month, as I joined Hjertebodens Juleblogg. Now, I have like a total of 2 - in march!
So, between chickens, eggs and bunnies I made a christmastag yesterday.
I found a cute, little sketch at Christmas Challenges (with sketches), pulled out my christmaspapers and stamps - and this is how it turned out.
(So fun, I even started on another one)
The sketchchallenge has the twist of using diecuts or punches. Well, I would have used the same dies (all Magnolia DooHickeys) for the tag anyway ;)

I hope that I, with this one, will get back on track with my christmascards and -projects.

I'll send the tag to these challenges:
Christmas Challenges (with sketches) #65 - Sketch (with a twist)

Tagbook for Confirmation

Hi again, girls :)
Spring and confirmations seems long ahead - tonight and earlier today we've had some more snow... - but time run fast and before we know it they're both here. And as I've said before; a slow cardmaker like me have to start early. Cards for the boys are the most difficult, so I've started these first :)
Today I'll show you a tagbookcard I've made.
I think the image is from WOJ (hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong).
I cut a 3.1/4" x5" panel of aquarellepaper and punched around it with Martha Stewarts Eyelet Lace PATP-set.
I've coloured it with DistressInk (Reinks and Markers).
Then I inked the edges, like I did with all papers (Pion, Papirdesign and Panduro) and cardstock.
I put lots of halfpearls around the image.
Next picture shows it opened facing the back of it.
I used Kraftcardstock for the labels. Stamped different greetings in the middle and swirls around the edges.

Here's the inside. Tags made of Kraftcardstock. Decorated with stamping and/or papers.
The back of the tags doesn't have any stamping, there one can write more personal greetings :)

Here I've pulled the tags up a bit. I see now that I should have pulled the tag to the right more up, as the stamped greeting are at the bottom of it (funny how much more you see and think of when you see pictures...)

Backside:
I'll enter these challenges:
Creative Card Crew #32 - Masculine
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges #6 - Anything Goes
Stamp With Fun #203 - Alles Geht

Easterdecoration in Yellow

Here's a little easterdecoration I've been working on last weekend.
Snowy weather and wind made both kids stay indoors, and we really had some cosy times together.
I'll post what they made later.
(Might even get a third post here today!)

I've had the sizzixdie for a long time, but haven't remembered to use it 'till now.
I cut 4 similar diecuts in yellow cardstock with it, and glued them together (with a thread between).
I coloured two Magnolia-images in most yellocolours (Distress Reinks), used a Spellbinder-die to cut out the images. Then decorated a little bit (a little cheesecloth, LiquidPearls, some yellow flowers and a few leaves) before I attached them together (same thread between here too).
Then, beneath the sizziz-diecuts I put on a few eggs, some feathers and an organzaribbon.
So now it's finished and ready to be hung up, swirling around, for easter. ;)

I'll send my yellow easterdecoration to these challenges:
Totally Tilda #67 - Easter, Use at least ONE EGG & a Tilda Image
Simply Magnolia - Easter and Eggs
Marvelous Magnolia - Tilda in her Sunday best
Tildas Town #44 - Anything Goes
MDUC - Easter

Lace, Pearls and Metal

Hi again :)
Something completely different from me today!
I have coloured one of my Kenny K-images in blue and brown (DistressMarkers and -refills), then I tried to find matching papers and stash for it. Usually when I make cards I, sort of, have in mind which papers to use, as I colour the image. Colouring this one I didn't think of papers at all. I just had a great time colouring!
Then, having made it difficult for myself, I figured I'd just continue that way, so I decided to try that metaltape-embossingthing that "everybody" seem to be doing now - FUN!
Around the image I put on halfpearls in different shades of blue, brads (with gemstones in), some TH-gears, a button and Fastenaters in two of the corners (I had totally forgotten I had those...)
The paperedges (Papirdesign and Prima) are inked with DistressInk BlackSoot.
I tied a black satinribbon to the embossed heart and attached a keycharm to it.
To the tag (tucked under the image) I tied a black laceribbon.
The border is made with Martha Stewarts Doily Lace Edge Punch.

Here's the insides. Greetingpanels punched with Martha Stewarts Cherish PATP-set.
The stamped greeting is from Norsk Stempelblad AS.
The back of it, waiting for my "Made by..."-stamp :

Working on this card my Spellbinder broke, third time since November!
I have waited for it to happen again.
We managed to fix it - with tape(!) this time, so I could use it some more.
Then, Wednesday I bought a new cutter, a Cuttlebug, and I already LOVE it!!!

Now; I'll send the card to these challengeblogs (hope they'll like it):
Kenny K's Krafty Krew #133 - Lace & Pearls
NMWC #7 - Anything Goes
A Gem of a Challenge #69 - Button It
Totally Papercrafts #157 - Punch It
Sweet Stampin' - It's All Embossing
Crafty Boots - Old, New, Borrowed OR Blue (think I managed all except the Borrowed part...)
Crazy Amigo - Women
Dutch Dare Card Challenges #207 - Girls Rule

Wish you all a wonderful weekend

Unfortunately ;) it started snowing quite heavily here now - not weather for housework I guess...
Better stay here, in my scraproom ;)

Pink Confirmationcard in TESA-folding

This was one of my weekendprojects.
Though spring and confirmationtime seems far away right now, I think it might be about time to start thinking of it - at least for a slow cardmaker like me...
In the weekend I have tried out different foldingtechniques.
Many of them found in the norwegian magazine Ett Trykk
This one they called TESA-folding, you can find the tutorial HERE.
I have used the lovely, new papers from Papirdesign (note to myself: buy more of those papers!)

When you pull out the imagecard, the rest of the card, almost magically, opens up, and you have a perfect place for a sentiment :)

The two hearts (dies from Nellie's Multiframes) are put together with an eyelet so the heart on top can be turned around to make the sentiment on the bottomheart become visible.

On the back the folding makes a pocket, where there's place for a tag:

Material list:
Size: 6"x6"
Ink: DistressInk WalnutStain, Versafine OnyxBlack
Stamps: Texts: Kort&Godt, Papirdesign. Image: Whiff of Joy (correct me if I'm wrong)

Oh, did I have a good time making this one - playing with all my pink stuff was so FUN!
The image is coloured with DistressInks (markers and refills).
I put on lots of halfpearls and gems, and laces and ribbons.
The flowers have got a coat of glitter on :)
All paperedges are inked with DistressInk WalnutStain.
The DPs have been around for years, so, unfortunately, I really can't remember where they are from...

The inside will look something like this...
...but I must admit I haven't finished it completely
-I dont like to attach the greetingpanel before I've found the perfect greeting/ sentiment for it, so this it what the insides really look like right now:

Tilda with Puppy Birthdaycard

Good morningon a windy, but fine, Friday morning.
I don't have to go to work today, but still have some tough jobs at home before I can call it weekend...
Just to give the day a little better start I decided to make a blogpost first, before I star on the chores ;)

The image on this card is the stamp that came with a Magnolia Magazine some time ago.
Isn't it just adorable!
I've coloured it with DistressMarkers and -reinks.
And since I coloured the puppys bow red I found I could put on a (big) red bow on one of the tags as well...
The tags are made with Magnolia DooHickeys.
I think the pennant border is made with a Cheery Lynn-die (please correct me if I'm wrong).
Over the pennants I stamped with Kaisercrafts "Postmarks" clearstamps.
At the leftside of the pennants I put on a little lacebow with a charm attached.
DPs on this card is from Bildmålarna. I've used Kraftcardstock for the card, and also for all the die-cuts.
Martha Stewarts Vintage Floral PATP-set has become an absolute favourite, and I've used it on the three paperstrips I put on the leftside of the card.
As always; all paperedges are inked, and as most times; with DistressInk Walnut Stain :)

The card is made as an Easelcard. Same DPs and Kraftcardstock inside as on the outside:

The stamped greeting inside is from Staz:

I hope these challengeblogs will like the card:
Marvelous Magnolia #16 - Punch A Bunch
Divas By Design - Anything Goes
Crafts And Me #122 - Dies or Punches
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Party Time Tuesdays #109 - Anything Goes
Addicted to Stamps #50 - Use Kraft
